Leo Africa
Leo Africa! Established in 2005, Limpopo Eco Operations is a dedicated volunteer project based in South Africa, focusing on Big 5 wildlife monitoring, conservation, and sustainable living. Our mission is twofold: to collect vital data on key animal species like lions, leopards, elephants, cheetahs, buffalo, brown and spotted hyenas, and white rhinos, aiding Reserve Management in informed conservation decisions, and to actively preserve the natural beauty of the reserve.
At LEO Africa, sustainability is at the core of our ethos, promoting green energy, recycling, and material reuse. We firmly believe that safeguarding wildlife and our planet necessitates collective responsibility and the expansion of protected natural areas.
Our volunteers are the heart of our operations, both in the field and at the base, supporting us financially and contributing crucially to the project's success. LEO Africa remains entirely reliant on volunteers and donors, with no governmental or institutional funding. Join us for an enriching experience in South Africa, gaining valuable skills, creating lasting memories, and directly participating in Big 5 monitoring, conservation efforts, sustainable living education, camera trap processing, and more at the breathtaking Abelana Game Reserve. Embrace the African adventure, meet fellow volunteers, and explore the unparalleled beauty of nature with us! Subscribe to our newsletter and volunteer with LEO Africa - because the true danger lies in assuming others will save our planet.
