Without your assistance through our program, this food would unfortunately find its way into landfills, exacerbating the problems associated with food waste and environmental degradation. Your volunteer involvement presents a tangible opportunity to address this urgent issue and effect meaningful change.
How Volunteers Make a Difference
The integral role of our volunteers is to provide vital support to a network of centers committed to the recovery and redistribution of high-quality food. These centers take on the responsibility of collecting food from local restaurants, supermarkets, and cafes, ensuring that valuable resources are not wasted. The rescued food is then distributed to families, the elderly, and homeless individuals facing critical circumstances, providing essential support to those in need.
Your Role as a Volunteer
As a volunteer, you will have the chance to work in various centers across Porto. You'll join local and international volunteers in a collective effort to reduce food waste. Your tasks may include:
