IOI - Empowering Galapagos
IOI (Intercultural Outreach Initiative) is a nonprofit organization that focuses on empowering communities in Cuba (currently suspended) and the Galapagos Islands to sustainably protect their environments. Our mission centers on supporting local institutions through education and socioeconomic development, particularly in areas of exceptional ecological significance and beauty.
We facilitate international volunteer and study-abroad programs, working closely with host communities to design and support conservation, education, and social development projects. These initiatives not only aid in environmental conservation but also enhance the communities' quality of life, a crucial aspect for ensuring the sustainability of conservation efforts.
Join us for a life-changing adventure, engaging in study abroad, research, corporate retreats, or volunteering experiences in the Galapagos Islands and Cuba. By volunteering in the Galapagos, you directly contribute to the conservation of this unique ecological wonder. IOI collaborates with local authorities, schools, universities, and international nonprofits to align our efforts with the needs of both the habitats and communities. Together, we're ensuring the long-term protection and flourishing of the Galapagos landscape for generations to come. Explore a range of projects and discover the top reasons to volunteer with IOI in this extraordinary environment.
