Are you passionate about wildlife conservation and looking for a meaningful volunteering opportunity in Costa Rica? Join the Parrot Rescue and Release Project on the breathtaking Osa Peninsula, founded by Chris, a dedicated New Zealand-born conservationist with a deep commitment to Costa Rica's avian inhabitants.
Our goal is straightforward: we aim to rescue, rehabilitate, and release parrots and other birds requiring assistance. Thanks to the invaluable support of generous donors and dedicated volunteers, we are in the process of constructing a cutting-edge parrot center right on our property. Our extended plan involves facility expansion, including additional aviaries, comfortable on-site volunteer accommodations, and the establishment of a specialized clinic for prompt care of ailing birds.
At the Parrot Rescue and Release Project, we are not only focused on rescue and rehabilitation but also actively engaged in breeding programs. These programs use birds that were once kept as pets and would struggle to survive in the wild. Their offspring, however, offers hope for the restoration of wild populations affected by poaching and deforestation. We specialize in nurturing these chicks in captivity, preparing them meticulously for their eventual release into the wild.
As a volunteer, your contribution is pivotal to our conservation initiatives. Your responsibilities will encompass gathering and preparing bird sustenance, aiding in the feeding of our avian companions, collecting essential monitoring information regarding both captive and wild birds, ensuring the cleanliness and safety of our aviaries, and actively participating in diverse construction projects aimed at improving our facilities.
Join us in this inspiring journey to protect and preserve Costa Rica's vibrant birdlife. Your helping hands and dedication can make a real difference. Be part of the Parrot Rescue and Release Project and experience the satisfaction of contributing to the well-being of these magnificent creatures.
Become a volunteer today and support the Parrot Rescue and Release Project in Costa Rica. Together, we can make a positive impact on the future of parrots and other birds in this stunning region.
