This program is ideal for

Animal lovers who have a genuine passion for caring for animals and have experience owning or interacting with pets like dogs and cats. It also attracts aspiring veterinarians and professionals from the animal care sector. Volunteers should be willing to support local staff by maintaining and cleaning shelters, participating in communication campaigns, and providing care for animals with special needs. They should be prepared for outdoor work in varying weather conditions, bring appropriate clothing, and be open to learning about animal care.

Participate in our Italian Animal Rescue Mission to improve the lives of dogs and cats. All that is needed is a love of animals and a desire to support their welfare—no prior experience is needed. Discover how you can support shelters and help aged or ailing animals while enjoying the beautiful city of Rome.

Are you an animal lover looking for a meaningful volunteer experience in Italy? Our Animal Rescue Mission in Rome is the perfect opportunity for you. Whether you have furry friends at home, aspire to be a veterinarian, or are a professional in the field, this project welcomes your care and compassion.

The Animal Care program in Rome encompasses a range of vital objectives. Beyond providing love and attention to our four-legged companions, such as dogs and cats, you'll have the chance to take leisurely walks with them. Additionally, you'll play a crucial role in supporting local non-profit associations by maintaining and cleaning animal shelters. Additionally, you can participate in communication campaigns aimed at increasing awareness about shelter animals and advocating for the adoption of senior pets. For those seeking a more challenging role, there is the opportunity to provide specialized care for animals afflicted by specific diseases. This will involve learning how to enhance their overall well-being, with a special focus on cats dealing with conditions such as FeLV.

If you plan to volunteer during the winter and work outdoors, be prepared for colder temperatures ranging from 40-60°F (5-15°C). It's essential to pack warm clothing, rain shoes, and waterproof gear from October to April. Because you'll be spending a lot of time with dogs and cats, dress in clothes you don't mind getting dirty - it's all part of the experience!

This project welcomes participants without any prerequisites or prior experience. Nevertheless, we highly recommend gaining some familiarity with animal care if you are not already experienced. Your love for animals remains the most crucial requirement.

Please note that this project requires a minimum commitment of 2 weeks, allowing you to make a substantial impact on the lives of animals in need. Join our mission to bring care and compassion to Italy's animal community.
