African Dream Horse Safari offers a unique project that stands out from other horse safari, volunteer, and internship venues in South Africa. Our emphasis is on living and learning in a relaxed and fun-filled environment.

All Riders Welcome

Every level of horseback riding proficiency is welcome to participate in our program, regardless of experience level. African Dream Horse Safari is the perfect place to go if you've never had the chance to ride a horse but are eager to learn.

Equestrian Excellence

For those looking to further their equestrian knowledge and improve their riding skills, African Dream Horse Safari is the chosen destination. Experience trails from horseback, receive show jumping and dressage lessons and take part in stable yard management activities.

Our Equestrian Centre houses approximately 35 horses and is situated within the expansive 700-hectare residential wildlife estate, famously known as the Hoedspruit Wildlife Estate. Wildlife on the estate includes zebras, giraffes, kudus, impalas, wildebeests, water-bucks, nyalas, and a variety of other fascinating creatures. It provides a truly unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the captivating natural wonders of the Savanna biome.

Safe and Relaxed Wildlife Environment

The estate, although teeming with wildlife, is free from the Big 5, ensuring that you can experience nature from horseback in a safe and relaxed environment.

Wildlife Discovery

If the idea of watching wild animals in their natural habitat from the back of an open safari vehicle appeals to you, African Dream Horse Safari is the perfect destination.

Our main objective is to create love and awareness for the environment with conservation as the driving force. Volunteers will have the opportunity to embark on four 3-hour game drives per week, providing a chance to experience the incredible African nature and learn about basic conservation practices within a Big 5 reserve.

Depending on the time of day, these drives will either include a morning coffee stop or an evening sundowner, all while taking in the soothing sounds of nature.
