In this program, dedicated volunteers hold a pivotal position, actively engaged in the redistribution of surplus food from local supermarkets and restaurants to homeless individuals, impoverished families, and others grappling with food insecurity. Your participation allows you to join a committed team working towards combating food waste in the vibrant city of Lisbon.

Did you know that every day, more than 3,000 people in Portugal rely on social institutions that collect perfectly good food from local dining establishments and stores, which would otherwise go to waste? Our Food Rescue Project is at the forefront of this fight against food waste.

Our volunteers support a network of centers that recover high-quality surplus food from local restaurants, supermarkets, and cafés, ensuring it reaches families, the elderly, and homeless individuals who need it most.

Participating in this project means you'll be working in various centers across Lisbon. You'll collaborate with both local and international volunteers, engaging in diverse tasks such as food collection, packaging, container cleaning, sorting, storage preparation for the next day, distribution to families, and cleanup at the end of your shift.
