Get hands-on experience in planting, maintaining, and harvesting crops while working closely with our friendly horses. You'll have the opportunity to ride these magnificent creatures regularly. The farm also houses additional animals, such as cows and pigs, providing you with a comprehensive farming experience.

Master the skill of preparing nutritious and delectable meals with the farm's freshly harvested produce, and uncover the intricacies of creating cacao and cheese from the ground up. Our beloved "host mum," Teresa, is a specialist in medicinal plant medicine, and her garden is a treasure trove of vital plants. If you have a basic understanding of Spanish, you can gain invaluable insights into the world of medicinal plants and their various uses from her.

Important things to note

Cost Note

First week’s fee: $ 599
Every Additional Week: $229 (It does not matter many weeks you choose, this fee stays the same)

FEES EXPLAINED: Our organizational fee of around $ 249 is included in the first week’s fee and covers the “behind the scenes costs”, such as staff salaries, office space rental, transaction and bank fees, and more. Our weekly fee for additional weeks covers the costs of your host family or project accommodation and food, the local staff on your project, and a donation to help with the daily running costs of the program you will help on.

Please note that the above shown program fees are estimated. Green Life Volunteers will let you know about the final price during your application process.

Deposit (15%)

The deposit is simply to reserve your volunteer placement. Payments are handled by PayPal, our trusted global payment provider. If you don't have a PayPal account, you can also pay using a credit card.

Final Payment (85%)

Your final payment will be agreed with Green Life Volunteers during the application process. Common solutions are either via bank transfer or a cash payment at the project site.

Our partner organisations only ever charge you for basic utilities and resources like food, transportation, accommodation, or crucial training sessions that may require hiring professionals. And we do not charge you anything at all!

Important Things to Note

All programs attract a Registration Deposit Fee of 15% of the program cost in addition to the main program fee. This fee is refundable in the event of your booking cancellation by our partner organisation.
A 5% international banking fee is added at point of payment.
Additional things to budget for include: Visa, flights, travel insurance (mandatory), vaccinations, criminal background check, public transport to and from your placement each day and for returning to the airport when your program finishes.
Recommended spending money: Volunteers in Costa Rica generally find US$100 - US$150 to be sufficient for basic weekly expenses.

50% refund of program cost if you cancel between or less than 14 days prior to check-in.
