This program is ideal for

Nature enthusiasts who thrive in adventurous environments and are committed to environmental conservation. Volunteers should possess qualities such as commitment, resilience, and a love for the outdoors. They should be comfortable with remote living, enjoy communicating with others, and have a willingness to engage in physically demanding tasks.

Experience the Rainforest Lodge Program in Costa Rica. Discover a captivating journey at our enchanting Eco-Lodge, nestled within an expansive 2200-acre expanse of untouched primary rainforest in Costa Rica. Immerse yourself completely in the wonders of this thriving and diverse rainforest, offering sanctuary to a myriad of rare plant and animal species. Our lodge enjoys an idyllic location neighboring "La Amistad International Park" and holds a pivotal role within the largest conservation area in Central America, the "La Amistad Biosphere Preserve," which is jointly managed by both Costa Rica and Panama. Notably, this region acts as the primary watershed for the Bananito River, providing a staggering 85% of the potable water supply to the thriving city of Limon.

Your participation in our nature and adventure programs, as well as the Rainforest Study Programs, directly contributes to the preservation efforts of the 'Fundacion Cuencas de Limon' (Limon Watershed Foundation). This foundation has emerged as a regional leader in watershed conservation within the Limon province, ensuring access to clean water for approximately 70,000 people.

During your stay, you'll have the opportunity to learn about the invaluable work of the 'guardabosques' or forest patrol. If you possess a deep love for nature, are committed to occasional hard work, have a penchant for adventure tours (horseback riding is a useful skill), and can comfortably adapt to a temporary retreat far from civilization (the nearest city is 30 km away), then this immersive experience is tailored for you.

Things to Bring:

  • A profound love for nature and a thirst for adventure.
  • Adaptability to limited online connectivity.
  • An eagerness to engage with our lodge's guests.
  • Proficiency in both Spanish and English languages, with language classes available on-site.
  • Willingness to embrace a temporary escape from urban life (the nearest city is 30 km away).
  • While not mandatory, horseback riding skills are advantageous for some activities.
