This program is ideal for

This project is well suited to aspiring teachers who would like to extend their teaching skills abroad as well as any volunteers interested in a cultural exchange that involves teaching language to those in need. As you will be volunteering with the support of our local team and placement staff, you do not need to be a qualified or experienced teacher to participate in this project.

Looking to make a positive impact while exploring the enchanting city of Rome, Italy? Consider becoming a Volunteer for Teaching English in Rome. Within Italy, there are numerous communities facing educational and economic challenges, limiting their access to English language education. This dearth of opportunities often results in disadvantages for individuals born in underprivileged neighborhoods. The Teaching English project seeks to bridge this gap by providing language lessons to various age groups, including children, youth, adults, and the elderly.

As a Teaching English volunteer, your role will involve collaborating with a local NGO dedicated to improving educational access for these communities. Your responsibilities will encompass tailoring educational programs to suit the needs of attendees and aligning with the NGO's objectives. You'll be in charge of leading lessons and educational activities for students with varying levels of proficiency. Although English takes the lead as the primary language taught, you might have the chance to instruct another language if you are fluent in it and there is local demand for it.

The focus of your lessons will vary depending on the student group you're assigned to:

Children and Youth: You can combine theoretical lessons with engaging recreational and sports activities conducted in English.

Adults: Your focus will be on vocabulary relevant to specific sectors such as tourism, administration, healthcare, and more, tailored to their professional or personal requirements.

Elderly: You can create an enjoyable learning experience by teaching basic vocabulary and organizing handcraft activities and projects that promote their sense of activity, belonging, and usefulness within their community.

This project is an excellent fit for aspiring teachers looking to expand their teaching skills abroad and for any volunteers interested in a cultural exchange that involves providing language education to those in need. The most appealing aspect is that you don't require formal qualifications or prior teaching experience to engage in this project. You'll be well-supported by our local team and placement staff throughout your participation.

Please note that this project requires a minimum commitment of two weeks. Join us in Rome and make a meaningful impact through teaching English. Your efforts can help open doors and create opportunities for those who need it most.
