Embark on a unique wildlife adventure with African Dream Horse Safari's Volunteer Wild Horse Safari program in South Africa. Leave behind the noise of engines and immerse yourself in the tranquility of the African bush as you ride through the Hoedspruit Wildlife Estate on the back of a horse, listening to the soothing clip-clop of hooves.
The estate is teeming with diverse wildlife, including giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, waterbucks, nyalas, impalas, kudus, steenboks, duikers, warthogs, and even elusive leopards. While we can't promise sightings of all these magnificent creatures, the thrill of anticipation around every corner is what makes this bush experience truly exhilarating.
Following a picturesque riverine path, our trail leads you to two dams where you may witness a variety of animals quenching their thirst. Whether you're a bird enthusiast, an animal lover, or simply seeking a unique adventure, a horseback trail offers a natural way to connect with the South African bush.
Choose between our 1-hour or 2-hour trail options, suitable for both beginners and advanced riders. If you prefer a less adventurous experience but still want to capture the moment, consider our "insta-experience," where you can have your photo taken on a horse.
Important Information:
- Please note that there is a strict weight limit of 85kg.
- Riders must be at least 6 years old, and the maximum age limit is 65, with exceptions based on riding experience.
- Wear closed, comfortable shoes, and long pants or jeans. Riding helmets are provided for your safety.
- Find us at Stand 713, Rotvy Road, Hoedspruit Wildlife Estate, Hoedspruit, South Africa. A gate entry code will be provided upon confirming your booking.
Who We Are:
African Dream Horse Safari is a family-run business established in 2008. We house 30 to 40 horses at any given time, with half being privately owned liveries. In addition to our horseback trails and liveries, we offer a volunteer program, horse riding lessons, and host horse shows.
