Our organization cares for wild animals that are saved from abuse by private owners, zoos, and other institutions. Several species of deer, wild boars, eagles, llamas, Euro-Asian lynx, Iberian wolves, European otters, and brown bears are just a few of the varied array of animals!

Our association goes beyond environmental conservation. We play an essential role in the local community by:

  • Employing people with disabilities to improve social integration.
  • Offering foster care to children whose parents cannot care for them.
  • Growing food locally and producing organic honey and wine.
  • Operating therapeutic horseback riding. In fact, 43% of our staff are people with disabilities or chronic diseases.

  • Summer (77-100ºF or 25-38ºC): Opt for comfortable and light clothing when volunteering in warmer weather.

Our Wildlife Conservation project is based at an Ecological Park in the historic town of Miranda do Corvo, located in the central part of Portugal. Just 4 hours from Lisbon by public transport and 45 minutes from Coimbra, the first capital of Portugal, this remote location is surrounded by traditional Portuguese slate villages, hiking trails, medieval castles, and riverside beaches. It's the perfect opportunity to connect with nature or join as a group and make a difference!
